Fish Habitat Fish habitat will be one of four components of the WRIA 1 Watershed Management Plan. As stated in the project's Overall Scope of Work, the goal of this component is: "To protect or enhance fish habitat in the management area (1) and to restore salmon, steelhead, and trout populations to healthy and harvestable levels and improve habitats on which fish rely." The fish habitat technical team, which is made up of Initiating Governments staff, Planning Unit members, and technical experts, will coordinate with the ongoing and anticipated analyses conducted under the auspices of the Nooksack Endangered-Species Action Team (NEAT), the 2496 salmon habitat restoration process, and other programs such as the Whatcom Marine Resources Committee. The team's tasks include facilitating the flow of information between the WRIA 1 technical teams and these other processes while ensuring that the WRIA 1 Watershed Management Project data needs regarding fish habitat are met.
