Pilot Projects The purpose of the pilot projects is to test the effectiveness of small-scale, affordable projects, while at the same time providing data to enhance the Decision Support System. It is also hoped that the projects will serve as success stories that will demonstrate the value of watershed planning throughout the WRIA. Currently, the pilot project ideas are being studied for feasibility. If they are found to be solid, workable ideas that are likely to be effective in solving water problems, they will be included in the first version of the Watershed Plan. Some of the ideas being considered are low-impact development, using groundwater to augment streamflows, and testing drainage-based management in the Tenmile and Bertrand watersheds. |
